Speech Problems in the Traumatic Head Injured Patients

Abstract
18 Patients have been under observation to decide specifically what kinds of the speech problem they suffer most. The present study has shown that the cognitive -language disorganization, caused by the decrease of the cognitive capability, has more frequented the patients than Broca¢¥s, Wernicke¢¥s, and global aphasia. The study has also learned that the main characteristics of the speech problem includes: weakening of the ability of associating words, and of the ability of identifying words used with
less frequency; in listening, the patients show difficulties in comprehending vocabularies and pitting numbers in a reversed order; in writing, have problems more in voluntary writing than in dictation and experienced a similar difficulty in complicated calculations .
With these findings in hand, we realized that the speech problem deserves a special attention and a proper treatment for it must be included in a comprehensive rehabilitation plan for the traumatic head injured patients.
